From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in L.A. is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your itinerary to a damn good time.

If you’re looking for truly memorable date night, take her/him to dinner … and then proceed to something far cooler than dinner.

Like: Ambient Church, a trippy, transcendental audiovisual affair rolling into L.A. on March 1st. Think Burning Man, but sophisticated. Think mass, minus the fire and brimstone.

You’ll be kicking things off with the standard procedure — get gussied up, get some grub — and then, you’re heading to church.

Tickets will go fast, so book ‘em now.

Step one: THE FIT
A trés creative date lends itself to creative attire. Plus, it’s the one time it’s okay to roll into a cathedral in sneaks. Albeit, very nice, velvety, high-top sneaks from Lanvin. This evening’s attire also includes the world’s softest, yet most durable black tee courtesy of Unbound Merino under the newly-released splattered denim jacket from Palm Angels. It’s a dark, respectable and creative look, and very much appropriate for the festivities ahead.

Step two: THE FARE
Taco spots are a dime a dozen in this city. But even the best old-school options aren’t necessarily suited to impress. Instead, go for the new-ish Máquina, a simple, design-centric haunt home to some unusual, delicious recipes. From mole-glazed pork belly with griddled rice to Spanish octopus with peppers paired with ribeye and lobster or lamb and mint, it’s the perfect highbrow/lowbrow date-night spot. And it’s just a few blocks away from your final destination ….

Step three: THE FUN
This March 1st, for one night only, the nomadic experiential series Ambient Church is making its way to the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena. From legendary talent William Basinski, the evening — titled “On Time Out Of Time” — will wed the sounds and visuals of a spacy, downtempo electronic show with the history and ambience of a 132-old cathedral. Featuring architecturally mapped graphic projections and a special performance from Berlin-based Colombian composer Lucrecia Dalt, this is one date-night opportunity we can comfortably say you won’t encounter again any time soon. Grab your tickets posthaste.
