All tempura everything? Say no more.

Dinner Plan: Beverly Hills

By The Editors

From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in L.A. is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your itinerary to a damn good time.

Freenote Cloth Shop

Just because you’re going to Beverly Hills doesn’t mean you need to dress like your father. Freenote Cloth has a pop-up shop open nearby, and their wovens are made with Japanese fabrics that are finer to the touch and have the sort of concerted details that separate their Western-styled wear from what you’ll find on thrift-store racks.

Tempura Endo

It’s the intimacy of Tempura Endo that makes it a great foodie date spot: you get to sit at a 16-seat bar and watch Chef Satoshi Masuda and his team carefully batter vegetables, scallops, Wagyu beef and six other seasonally dictated items while you dine. This isn’t the kind of tempura that needs to be doused in soy sauce to be enjoyed — each item is served separately on a tray, with custom sauces and fine salts (truffle, rice powder, yuzu) to match. You’ll be happy you dropped coin for this.

Wally’s Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills isn’t flush with places to grab a drink — at least not many we’d recommend. But Wally’s new wine bar and restaurant is probably one of the best kept secrets in town, the sort of place we go when we want a glass of wine or a cocktail and exceptional yet simple food. The bar is stylish and lively enough for a post-prandial drink, and the price point and daunting stacks of expensive wine bottles (your options number over 2,000) keep the twenty-somethings at bay.
