Rumors are swirling about an old white Bronco returning for another ride — and it’s not Peyton Manning.
The iconic 4×4 that O.J. Simpson made infamous was discontinued in 1996 (two years after the slow-speed chase), but fans of the classic two-door have been clamoring for its return ever since.
And it’s here … in rendered form, at least.
An agreement between Ford and the United Automobile Workers union last fall included language pointing to sixth-generation Broncos starting to roll off the line at Michigan Assembly Plant in 2020, but that was too long of a wait for the members of fan forum Bronco6G — so they made their own.
A slew of renderings of the 2020 vehicles show Broncos with a “modern body on frame” and “a tall, boxy, tough, no-frills design with a strong focus on utility and off-road capabilities.” The models combine the classic Bronco’s round headlights and square front grille with elements taken from Ford’s current lineup of trucks and SUVs.
