Truth be told, I get a little nervous every time I go for a test drive.

Recently, I was behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracån and I ran down the usual checklist. Do I have a serious lead foot? Yes. Do I have $200k in pocket change lying around, just in case? No. Okay; let’s do this.

And while I would certainly get behind the wheel of this immaculate ‘62 Ferrari 250 GTO, I’m wondering if anyone could really blame me for needing a Xanax or seven to drive a $56.8 million ride — which is what its owner, in coordination with classic Ferrari dealer Talacrest, currently has it priced at.

On the open market for the first time in 20 years, the make is the second of its kind to roll off the production line. It placed at both Le Mans and Sebring in its hey day.

Supremely coveted, the GTO is one of only 36 ever made. And regardless of its senior status, it’ll still pull 0-60 mph in six seconds and top out at 170 mph. Plus, the “Holy Grail of classic cars” will get the owner a spot in the Ferrari 70th anniversary tour next year.

So, romantic nostalgia aside, why would anyone want a ride a car 245 times more expensive than a brand-new Ferrari 488?

“After the US election, people are going to be looking at investing in assets and this is a lot better than a painting on the wall,” Collins told the Telegraph.

Touché.
