The young sport of drone racing is poised to get a whole lot crazier. A new concept design looks to give fans a first-person perspective in an upcoming racing simulator.

Slovakian designers Samuel Nicz and Slavomir Ozanik teamed up to imagine the “NOX” quadcopter. Both Bratislava-based creatives have previously designed concepts for vehicles, but this creation leaves their others in the dust.

The NOX boasts it offers better stabilizing and turning capabilities. The central cabin employs a stabilization system that autonomously adapts to flight modes, from taking off and landing to climbing and turning. Additional advances come from the rotors and the difference in the wings’ angles, which help NOX move through the skies.

Nicz and Ozanik chose the shape of NOX’s fuselage to eliminate drag and improve landing and takeoff. The out-of-the-box concept includes rotors on one the same wing, connected to the cabin—which houses the power source, control unit, and camera—at a single pivot point. The two designers are exploring other design options, like an independent system for each wing that could make the quadcopter even faster.
