Journalist Brian Roberts and his co-rider Tim Torres kicked off their ride in New Jersey and ended up traversing the U.S. over 14 days on their trek to California, riding a 2016 Indian Scout and Honda Rebel 250, respectively. Their hogs came courtesy of Club EagleRider, which offers members 12 free rental days per year (plus your birthday); and exclusive discounts on tours, services, and apparel (it costs $39/month, with a one-time initiation fee). You can ride on brands like Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Honda, and more.

A few of their favorite stops and spots included:

(1) St. Louis, Missouri:

“I loved St. Louis. The bars were open late, and the patrons were friendly and talkative, unlike New York City, where it seems everyone is in a rush and incapable of extended conversation…The restaurants were diverse, so you’re not limited to any one type of cuisine.”

(2) New Mexico: Red River and Eagle’s Nest State Park

(3) Arizona: DeBerge’s Saddlery and Western Wear
