If you wanted to nitpick something about Chevy’s C7 Corvette, it probably wouldn’t be the car’s 0-60 time of less than four seconds, 190 MPH top speed or powerful 450-HP 6.2-liter V8 engine.
What it might be? The car’s trunk space. Specifically, the complete and total lack of it.
To let ‘Vette owners get substantially more room for their luggage, golf clubs or bodies in need of disposal, after-market shop Callaway designed a kit that’ll convert any current C7 into a hatchback. Compatible with Stingrays, Grand Sports and Z06 coupes, the Callaway AeroWagen Package includes hatch assembly, two spoilers, a halo bar, tempered glass, OEM paint and installation.
The $14,990 conversion keeps the Corvette’s targa roof intact and doesn’t alter the car’s chassis or interior, so if an owner wants to backtrack from the hatchback, that’s not a problem.
Callaway is taking orders for the AeroWagen and, don’t forget: it’s obviously a BYOC situation.
