There was a time when owning a sports car meant something. That time is more or less gone. Cue the violin.

Because Ferrari has finally yielded to the bad taste of consumer demand and is actively working towards the production of a yellow-bellied, soft-roading crossover.

The report comes from the UK’s Car magazine that confirmed an off-roader is now an active project. The “off-roading supercar,” codenamed F16X, is said to slide onto the streets come 2021. And it’s gunning to compete with makes like the Lamborghini Urus and the Aston Martin DBX.

With all-wheel drive and an aluminum build, the wet washcloth on wheels is going to stand taller than the Lusso, have rear suicide doors and a V8 petrol or hybrid engine. No shocker here — there will be no V12.

And the sticker price will run around $350,000 because apparently, money can’t buy taste.
